“Paul Lehman is an experienced and effective leader. In his sixteen years of service to the City of Minnetonka, including time as Chair of both the Planning Commission and the Park Board, Paul demonstrated considerate, effective and non-partisan leadership skills. These characteristics are essential for success as a city council member.” - Brad Wiersum, Mayor City of Minnetonka
"Paul Lehman has proven experience and leadership that will be beneficial for Minnetonka. - Tim Bergstedt, Current City Council Member for Ward 4 and past Mayor of Minnetonka"
“Over my many years on the Minnetonka Park Board, Planning Commission and City Council I have had the opportunity to interact many times with Paul Lehman. I have found him to be very thoughtful, having a good perspective on the community, it’s needs, challenges and values. He has been a great listener, good problem solver, with the interest of the entire community taken into consideration. He would make a great Ward 4 Council member. “ - Terry Schneider, Former Minnetonka Mayor
"Paul was an ever-present stickler for thorough reviews, proper meeting procedures and decorum. Never was there a question about a clear and accurate record while Paul served his community on the commission … on behalf of the city council, fellow park board and planning commission members and the Minnetonka residents you represented over the years, thank you for your outstanding service to the city of Minnetonka." - Minnetonka City Council Recognition, January 2015
Letters of Support
As parents of a daughter who participated in the Glen Lake Girls Athletic League (GAL Softball) program from kindergarten through her senior year, it is very timely to call attention to the leadership Paul Lehman provided to her and the thousands of other girls over the years, to help make this program a success. Paul spent over 20 years as a coach, president and board member. His tireless dedication to the organizational and administrative tasks helped create a league where girls get the chance to play ball while building their self-confidence. The facilities at Glen Lake for GAL and the opportunities they provide are an asset to our community. Over the years, Paul nourished this league, providing the strong base GAL Softball has in our community. So, for every girl who has swung a bat, fielded countless grounders bouncing every which way, lost fly balls in the sun, and made life-long friends over the many years, we say a heartfelt "thank you" to Paul. Paul’s commitment to GAL league is just one of the many ways he’s shown commitment and leadership to Minnetonka. We know Paul will bring this same level of commitment and leadership to our city council. Please join your friends and neighbors and help elect Paul Lehman.
Ellen and David Cousins - Minnetonka
As a proud resident of Minnetonka, I am writing this letter in unequivocal support of Paul Lehman’s candidacy for Minnetonka City Council in Ward 4. Paul’s timeless commitment, relentless work ethic and deep love for his city are all but unmatched and show why Paul is the candidate you should vote for on November 5th.
Throughout Paul’s 57 years as part of the Minnetonka community he is the only resident to serve as the Chairman of both the Planning Commission and the Parks and Recreation Board, serving 16 total years between the two.
Through his leadership he helped guide the city through the Park Renewal Process where all 50 parks in Minnetonka were upgraded. He also oversaw the creation of new ordinances for Tree Protection, Shoreland Protection, and The Expansion Permit which had Statewide implications and greatly improved our city.
In Fall of 2006 he received the Award of Excellence from the Minnesota Recreation & Parks board. He became the first and, to this day, the only Minnetonka Recreation & Parks Board member to receive this distinguished award. Our parks and city’s footprint are better places for our kids and us because of Paul’s Leadership and Service.
The future of Minnetonka deserves the best, his track record and service speak for themselves.
Join me at the polls in voting for Paul Lehman on November 5th, he gets things done!
Sincerely, Cole Anderson - Minnetonka
